2010 November 2010 NASA Health and Human Performance Center XArc Receives Membership in Newly Formed NASA Health and Human Performance Center (NHHPC) Exploration Architecture Corporation is pleased to announce its membership in NASA's newly established global forum for organizations interested in advancing human health and performance innovations in space and on Earth. The NASA Health and Human Performance Center (NHHPC) will give members an opportunity to collaborate, network and share information. NHHPC members include NASA centers and partners, industry, academic institutions, government agencies and nonprofit organizations. Members work together to advance human health and performance innovations for spaceflight, commercial aviation and any challenging environment on Earth. The official website can be viewed at www.nasa.gov/offices/NHHPC August 2010 US Army Corp of Engineers XArc Awarded Multiple Contracts by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Provide Instruction and Training for Civil Engineering Topics Exploration Architecture Corporation (XArc) is awarded two separate contracts by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide course development and classroom training in soil mechanics for USACE personnel. The contract for training instruction in "Slope Stability Analysis" has a one year period of performance, while the "Shear Strength of Soils" contract has a one year base period of performance with four option years. Contract task orders require XArc Corp to develop, update or revise and present professional development training to USACE employees responsible for design or loading conditions for soils. Classroom training will be conducted at the USACE Learning Center, in Huntsville, Alabama. XArc will perform the services with support from its strategic partner SoilVision Systems, Ltd. SoilVision will provide its next generation of geotechnical software products for student use in conjunction with updated course material. To service the proposal goals WEXF assembled a uniquely qualified team of local San Antonio educational organizations and education-related companies for project partnership, including PCI Educational Publishing, Numedeon, Inc, Exploration Architecture Corporation, the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) College of Education and Human Development, and the UTSA Office of P-20 Initiatives. The overarching scope of the project is to adapt existing NASA learning products into K-12 STEM field curricula for use by students in general education classes receiving Special Education and/or bilingual education services. Two NASA Learning Technologies (LT) applications serve as candidate prototypes for this effort. A framework of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) guidelines applied to the adaptation of product content, as well as conversion of adapted content for bilingual education are the principal modifications proposed for the NASA STEM learning products. The WEX Foundatio, located in San Antonio, TX, is a not-for-profit 501(c) education organization that supports secondary education for historically underrepresented and underserved student populations. The WEXF mission is to promote, encourage and support the convergence of technology and education as applied to new visions for human space exploration and its long term implications for the educational development of the nations next generation of scientist, engineers, mathematicians and technologist. June 2010 SIA Construction XArc Retained for Proposal Management and Business Development Services to SIA Construction, Inc. (SIAC) Exploration Architecture Corporation is retained to provide proposal support and business development services to General Contractor SIA Construction, Inc. of Houston,TX. XArc will support SIAC's newly opened San Antonio office with proposal management for various competitive contracts for expansion of their construction management business in Federal and military construction projects throughout the San Antonio area construction market. The topic entitled "Convergence of Space Tourist Processing and Suborbital Payload Processing in Spaceport Facility Design", was presented by XArc Corp President and Founder, Sam Ximenes. View Summary PDF The NSRC brings together researchers from government, industry, and academia for discussions on opportunities for research and education missions offered by the new wave of human suborbital space vehicles coming on line beginning in 2010. These vehicles, operating from commercial spaceports, will revolutionize space access by providing frequent, low-cost access to space and the capability to carry research experiments for technology demonstrations, for scientist in-the-loop research, and for educational/public outreach demonstrations. January 2010 RoboMap™ XArc and Penguin Collaborate for Subterranean Mapping Technology Exploration Architecture Corporation (XArc) and Penguin Automated Systems Technology Inc, of Canada, collaborate to bring technology solutions for robot mapping and position resolution in subterranean environments. Through a technology licensing arrangement, XArc Corp and Penguin Systems US Inc., a subsidiary of Penguin Automated Systems Technology Inc, are developing a patented Robot Mapping System (RoboMap™) capable of accurately mapping tunnels and transferring this data into engineering CAD systems. Applications include security, civil construction, mining and public safety. Initial marketing efforts of the joint collaboration will focus on certain requirements of Department of Homeland Security for first responder applications. XArc's collaboration with Penguin for subterranean mapping and positioning technology is a natural adjunct to XArc’s research and development activities in planetary habitation for space exploration. The operational scenarios, technologies, and human and robotic performance feats associated with planetary cave exploration are benefited by the RoboMap™ technology. |
